While I may use Explorer in the future for accessing my files, it was not reliable enough to use as a backup. This worked remarkably well, but every now and then would have a small hiccup that would cause Windows to pause the file transfer. I originally tried MSP360 Explorer, which mounts a cloud bucket to your operating system's file system. MSP360 Backup has made the process hassle free. I decided on Wasabi as my backup provider with MSP360 Backup as the client software. I use Google Photos to make my photos accessible, but for backing up the RAWs and not jut JPEG versions I needed something that was not domain specific, IE it wouldn't modify my files (besides lossless compression and encryption). (IE, C:/Users/Jonathan/Documents/ will get stored to C/Users/Jonathan/Documents in the cloud storage bucket) What have you been using it for and what problems did MSP360 Backup solve?īacking up personal files and photos. The notification in the task bar only shows up when the main window is open.įolders structures from the original drive are duplicated in the cloud storage bucket, it would be nice to be able to specify a specific folder in the bucket. There is a good wizard for setting up a new plan or modifying an existing one, with different features explained well. Trial period only exposed features for the version I was planning on buying, making for a realistic test.Īllows me to select multiple drives and folders to backup in the same backup plan Before I found this it was looking like I would need 2 solutions. I am also able to use this same software to protect the physical make-up of my PC using local backups & Disk Images. I have a lot of data which was costly and/or critical to me - I operate a paperless household! This has allowed me to choose a cost effective cloud provider (BackBlaze) and secure my data in an encrypted way in the cloud. What have you been using it for and what problems did MSP360 Backup solve? And it took me a while to actually get it to find my backup on my NAS (But that was because I only had an online manual and had not read it!. Modifying Plans can be a chore as there is a need to go back through the step-by step wizard, I was unable to find any wifi connection available whilst attempting a bare metal restore - Had to go and plug it in. Not really found anything that I "dislike" about the product so far, but there are some enhancements which would be beneficial. And to top it all it also has Image backup to enable Bare Metal Restore, and it's Quick - I get my full upload bandwidth used much of the time. The software has a host of features which are a "must" for me, Cloud backup / Restore, Versioning, Encryption, comprehensive scheduling, and more. I am able to backup my key data to both my internal NAS, and further protect my data using the Cloud. This software gives me everything I could want to protect my invaluable & costly data. I was looking for a cost effective cloud solution to replace my existing supplier, and found this APP to use too through the Cloud platform. This software doesnt provide the easiest interface to use. The software keeps the database on Deep Glacier and recovers it before starting the restore. I tested a restore of my data from a freshly installed PC that did not contain the CloudBerry Backup database and everything works great. The cost of storage on Deep Glacier is so low that I am configuring CloudBerry Backup to keep 10 versions of each files! Unlike Fast Glacier, I can automatically schedule my backups. CloudBerry Backup allows me to take advantage of the same storage platform but also the new dirt cheap Deep Glacier from Amazon. I used to use FastGlacier to keep my backups on Amazon Glacier. This software is exactly what I was looking for. My external hard drives would break or fail, then all my work would be gone. Although today the documentation is clear, it wasn't so clear to me when I first started (user confusion - not a product issue) What have you been using it for and what problems did MSP360 Backup solve? It did take a little study for me to get the backup plan in place. I didn't review their customer service, because I haven't needed them. When you are ready to restore the backup, you'll need it. I'd say only one word of caution: keep that password safe. The peace of mind from having the backup completed automatically is worth so much more than the cost of the license! I appreciate that the license is per device and only payable once. I started with the free version and have decided to move forward with the paid version. The learning curve was short, instructions were helpful. Ease of use is the most important factor for me.
